Steve D. Posted October 27, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted October 27, 2015 Is this spot left from a leather Oxygen tab? It's on the B-17.
cutiger83 Posted October 28, 2015 Share #8 Posted October 28, 2015 Amazing finds! You found a WASP and a Flight Nurse jacket! I am beyond jealous! Personally, I would not repair the jacket. I don't know if it would detract from the value but it is such a unique item that I would not want to alter it. The rest of the jacket looks to be in great shape. I have been looking thru pictures trying to find out if that is an oxygen tab mark on the B-17 jacket. I haven't been able to find any pictures with the oxygen in use. I will keep looking. ...Kat
phantomfixer Posted October 28, 2015 Share #9 Posted October 28, 2015 very nice set...u asked...I would leave alone...original is always better...unless jacket requires a full blown restoration...which yours do not...awesome...

doyler Posted October 28, 2015 Share #12 Posted October 28, 2015 Great set I would leave as is.With items as these...less is more. They stiill will display well. Nothing wrong with restoration or conservation but with these jackets I feel so few exist and not really sure that replacing the knits would increase the value. Steve D. Posted October 28, 2015 Author Share #13 Posted October 28, 2015 Thanks for the advise folks! I'll just store the replacement cuffs and waist band in the pockets with a couple of moth balls for now. I found a pair of A-13 Trousers from Vintage Productions to go with the B-17, and am hoping to find a pair of A-12 Trousers for the B-16.
