U.S. Marked 10th Infantry Or 10th Cavalry Canteen

Recommended Posts

I obtained this canteen which appears to beelong to the 10th Infantry which was fighing in Cuba at San Juan Heights and other battles but the 10th Cavalry went up San Juan Hill with Roosevelt. The "F" means F Comany, 10 is the unit and the bottom number is the soldier's number. I think this is a 10th Infantry Canteen rather than Cavalry but there are but other markings. Am I corrrect?
