flyboy53 Posted October 27, 2015 Share #7 Posted October 27, 2015 Which means this sergeant, as a member of the 3rd Air Force, may have served somewhere in the Southeast United States in a unit that either did anti-sub patrols along the Atlantic or the Gulf of Mexico -- or was in an RTU that trained aircrews for combat. Curious that he is not wearing any WW II ribbons because this numbered Air Force is inactivated in 1946. By the time it is stood up again, he would have been wearing blues. Johnny Signor Posted October 28, 2015 Share #8 Posted October 28, 2015 The photo could have been taken before he was awarded any medals/ribbons
