AAF_Collection Posted October 24, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2015 Hi, I'm seeking information on the B-29's which were built by the Glenn L. Martin company at Omaha, Nebraska. I believe Martin constructed a total of 531 B-29's, including the majority of the "Silverplate" aircraft. What I'm specifically trying to determine is, of the remaining B-29's, how many were built by Martin?. I'm obviously aware of Enola Gay and Bockscar, but are there others?. Thanks, Matt. A total of 536 B-29s were constructed at the Martin plant in Omaha, Nebraska. Besides the Enola Gay and Bockscar, other notable B-29s built under license by Martin included Big Stink, Full House, Jabit III, and Laggin' Dragon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_B-29_Superfortress_variants https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Stink_(aircraft) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_House_(aircraft) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jabit_III https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laggin'_Dragon
AustinO Posted January 4 Share #4 Posted January 4 This list of surviving B-29s should answer your question as it lists where manufactured. Looks like there are quite a few Martin built craft still out there.

SoCalvin Posted January 4 Share #6 Posted January 4 I believe that only two B-29s are air worthy, one of which I saw fly at the CAF show in Camarillo a couple years back - FIFI - awesome btw! (it was built in Boeing, Renton plant tho)
