Just acquired this WASPS pin with a small lot of WWII AAF insignia, wings, etc.. I have pictured it next to a common AAF di for size comparison. Although the di was also part of the lot. Does anyone know what this pin was about? Thanks.

I am not sure about this pin but I don't believe this pin is associated with the Women's Airforce Service Pilots. Their insignia did not have the wasp bug on them.

cutiger83 is on the mark. The WASPs did not have ANY insignia w/ a wasp (insect, flying. stinging), despite many dealers' attempts to the contrary.

Some civilian organization (WW II patriotic?) had this made up.

I wonder if this is some type of a high school pendant pin that had a wasp as their mascot.

I think Kat is on to something. When I opened this post, my gut reaction was the same; it looks like a school athletic mascot.

I too think Kat is right. Could also be a Yacht Club, the pendent shape was used a lot by them.
