JDK Posted June 3, 2008 Share #136 Posted June 3, 2008 Outstanding collection !! Now I don't feel so bad. I used to have a 82nd Airborne A-2 just like that. It had the officers name stenciled in the lining. I sold it a couple of years ago since I'm strictly AAF. Wonder if it's the same jacket? Anyhow, one of the best Airborne collections I've seen! J.D. cmjordan77 Posted June 5, 2008 Share #145 Posted June 5, 2008 All I can say is AMAZING. I am glad these artifacts are surviving. I have a war room but I have only been collecting for 2 years. I know this is a PRICELESS war room, but if you had to put a price on the whole thing, what do you think???? $1million?? 2million?? More??? I hope to have 1/4 of this collection. I am trying to also get into reenacting. If anyone ever finds ANYTHING on the 1258th COMBAT Engineers, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! This was my grandfathers unit. My Wife's father fought in the 82nd Airborne during WWII. I am trying to get into the trunk my mother in law has of her fathers WWII items. I have been dying to get into it. I really thank you for all the wonderful pictures. Again, I hope to have just 1/4 of the collection in 20 years. As now, the items are getting more and more scarce everyday. Thank you! 1258th Grandson
