AirMechanic Posted October 18, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2015 Does anyone know a good method to reattach or glue clutch back stud posts that have broken off of insignias? I have several where they have broken off cleanly, but I don't know what kind of adhesive to use that would be strong enough or won't look sloppy. I'm not sure that a tiny drop of super glue would be strong enough, and I also don't want to use anything that would show around the rim of the stud post. What about a tiny drop of solder? Also, does anyone know how they are attached when they are made (like on DUI's, officer's branch insignia, wings pins, etc)? Thanks!
hardheaded Posted October 18, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 18, 2015 Sorry, can't help you out. I wondered how they did that too. I have used a stud gun welder on steel before and wondered if they had some low heat type machine for that for the different metals.
Patchcollector Posted October 18, 2015 Share #3 Posted October 18, 2015 You could re-solder them on yourself or have a Jeweler do it.

pathfinder505 Posted October 18, 2015 Share #5 Posted October 18, 2015 Get a jeweler. It wouldn't cost that much and then you don't have to worry about it
WW2JAKE Posted October 18, 2015 Share #6 Posted October 18, 2015 Get a jeweler. It wouldn't cost that much and then you don't have to worry about it but that depends on what it is, some things they can fix others would likely damage the piece making the problem worse
