268th C.A. Posted October 15, 2015 Share #6 Posted October 15, 2015 The holster appears old, the top strap & brass fennel look added and newer . I'd cast a vote for fake...
Lee Ragan Posted October 15, 2015 Share #7 Posted October 15, 2015 Looks like a civilian "slim Jim" style holster. Colt Walkers were "horse" pistols meaning they were designed to be mounted on the pomel in holsters and not carried on the person because they were heavy. What makes you think it may be "junk"? tony75 Posted October 15, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted October 15, 2015 Hi Lee thanks for the info how old do you think it is I thought it may be junk because I am clueless when it comes to guns/holsters thanks again Tony
Ronnie Posted October 16, 2015 Share #9 Posted October 16, 2015 I agree....junk. That stamp is not right. Stamped one letter/numeral at a time. It certainly wasn't made in 1854. May have been made in 1954 or maybe even a little earlier or later. Leather has no cracks or crackling anywhere. I don't know if it was made necessarily to deceive but bottom line is....looks like somethin I might make. Of course all this is my opinion. artu44 Posted February 5, 2016 Share #11 Posted February 5, 2016 IMHO it's a bubba work made out from ancient leather with some markings on.
