DSC for 1LT Stanley Dankowski

Recommended Posts

Here's the General order for 1LT Stanley Dankowski, Company K 3 Bn 65 Inf Regt. 3 Inf Div. I got these from my Dad. He was in the same company as 1LT Dankowski and a fellow Platoon Leader. My dad told me that if it wasn't for 1LT Dankowski's actions he took, most if not all of 1LT Dankowski's platoon would have not made it back alive. Furthermore, when K co sent out a platoon plus the next day to recover 1LT Dankowskis's remains, they were unable to locate it. The first image will be the GO and the 2nd post is the newspaper article where 1LT Dankowski's parents are presented them the DSC.
