Sabrejet Posted October 12, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2015 It's a rhetorical question...I know perfectly well that it's an AAF Cadets' cap device...but why in bullion?! I've photographed it alongside a regular metal Cadets' hat device by way of a size comparison...they're close to 1:1. The bullion example is very well detailed and is on an officers' quality dark OD gabardine backing. But what is it for? Surely, it's not intended for cutting out and attaching to a visor cap...is it?!

Sabrejet Posted October 12, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted October 12, 2015 For the overseas cap maybe? Erwin I did consider that Erwin, but it's really proportionately too big...IMHO. Thanks for the suggestion!
Jeeper704 Posted October 12, 2015 Share #5 Posted October 12, 2015 No problem, I just googled a bit and found similar insignia on these caps. Some small, some big(ger). Like this one: Erwin

hardstripe Posted October 12, 2015 Share #7 Posted October 12, 2015 This one looks suspiciously Pakistani made.
Sabrejet Posted October 12, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted October 12, 2015 This one looks suspiciously Pakistani made. Might well be? Not a problem because I got it for the equivalent of about $2 several years ago. It's lain at the bottom of a drawer ever since then. I'm still intrigued as to what its original intention was.
