Wharfmaster Posted October 11, 2015 #1 Posted October 11, 2015 I have had this pin for some time and haven't seen another. It's a full size 14th Cavalry DI that has been suspended from a bugle. I assume it is a sweetheart pin. Do you agree ? Thanks, Wharf
KurtA Posted October 11, 2015 #2 Posted October 11, 2015 Wharf- That is really cool. I would agree that it is some sort of sweetheart/souvenir pin. And markings on the other side of the DUI? Is it the same size as a standard DUI? Kurt

Here is a so-so quality photo of the reverse. Wharf
tredhed2 Posted October 11, 2015 #4 Posted October 11, 2015 I wouldn't be surprised that it was worn by a 14th Cav band member - some sort of UA recognition.....too large to be a sweetheart pin, which tend to be very small. The DI was approved in 1940 which would account for the sterling mark. It is way cool, though, either way.
