TheMariner Posted October 8, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 8, 2015 Hello Robert due to being a pin back and not a post back example it most likely is late ww2 or korean war era. The star indicates it was a second award. Hope this helps

Steve B. Posted October 8, 2015 Share #4 Posted October 8, 2015 As mentioned, the star indicates it is a second award. That places it as no Korean War or later since there was no way to earn two awards for WWII alone
TheMariner Posted October 8, 2015 Share #5 Posted October 8, 2015 As mentioned, the star indicates it is a second award. That places it as no Korean War or later since there was no way to earn two awards for WWII alone I was thinking that, but what if there was a bronze star conversion and he earned one the end of the war ? would that result as 2 from ww2 ?? Just a thought

KurtA Posted October 8, 2015 Share #7 Posted October 8, 2015 Subsequent awards (and a star) were not approved until 1951. So, it's no older than that. But, based on its appearance, I would say it is early 1950's era. Nice badge.

firefighter Posted October 8, 2015 Share #10 Posted October 8, 2015 It is at least Korean War. The CMB wasn't established till late in WW2.It's like the CIB, but obviously for medics. So say you were a COMBAT medic in WW2 you would be awarded the basic badge(no star). But then you served in Korea as a COMBAT medic you would be awarded what you have.Another star for another War.
