cerick1450 Posted October 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 4, 2015 This came on a WW2 era Visor Hat. Is this WW2 era? It is about 1 5/8" from top to bottom of anchor. Tfhanks
b_hinch Posted October 5, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 5, 2015 This is the correct style for WWII, M1936, but this bird appears to be post-war, used up until the 1953 pattern. Based on the finish and the roller, but a little hard to tell in the pics.

Brig Posted October 6, 2015 Share #4 Posted October 6, 2015 Looks like war time finish to me, flash just makes it appear brighter than it is
usmcaviator Posted October 6, 2015 Share #5 Posted October 6, 2015 Concur with Brig. Unsure exactly when the gun metal versions start to show, but the ones with zinc rollers I have attributed to lots from around late 1943 to the late 1940's.
