He served as a fighter pilot in the Army Air Corps and in the United States Air Force during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. During the Cuban Conflict, he took pictures over Cuba. And, between wars, he served as a test pilot. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement, while participating in aerial fight, on October 17th, 1952. I think this is a HGU-2/p and with a MBU-5 oxygen mask?

northcoastaero Posted October 6, 2015 Share #3 Posted October 6, 2015 The HGU-2A/P helmet appears to be from 1966 or a little later and made by Land Mfr. The MBU-5/P mask appears to be an early version made by Sierra.
