Flea Market Patch & Insignia Day

Hit the local Flea Market this past weekend and snagged some patches off a good buddy of mine. Later I picked up a marked set of Army Special Forces Crests aswell.

 

Theater-Made 23rd Infantry Division, 40th Infantry Division, 3rd AAF, Far East Air Forces,

2 Phantom (Ghost) Divisions: 11th and the 22nd Infantry Division, and Marine Barracks Londonderry Ireland

Nice theater made patch---Blue Skies Mark


In Memory of Air Corps Technical Sergeant Carl F. Durfee. He died of wounds on 30 December 1944 while serving in the South Pacific. You are not forgotten.

Any idea what country the 23rd ID was made in? I'm presuming somewhere in the Pacific as they were involved in the PTO.

Looks Vietnam hand embroidered, stars.

Yes, a lot were encased in plastic and used as pocket hangers but also worn as a regular SSI.

I was aware of the plastic hangers but didn't know they wore both regular or theater-made SSIs in them. Figured they'd would use the standard SSIs to put in them.

There are a lot os standard U.S. SSI made patches that were worn as a pocket hanger.But just as many theater made ones too.
