Picked this up yesterday. Other than some staining and moth nips on the right sleeve, it is in fairly good shape for a near 100 yr old coat.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

2nd Army enlisted engineer with at least 6 months overseas duty (1 gold chevron) that was honorably discharged (red chevron).

Its a shame about the right sleeve but the damage is not too bad.

 

I sprayed the coat with SLA spray to kill any remaining moths.

Then I steam ironed the whole coat.

Coat complete and in good condition, considering the age!

A very nice exemple of a 1917 overcoat. Later productions don't have the flaps on cuffs.

Thank you all. I happen to have a hood for this coat that I bought a while back. I am going to check it tomorrow to see if it works.
