scubaguy Posted September 15, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2015 I found this tent in a basement that I was cleaning out, not sure if it is U.S. Military or not. I cant make out any kind of stamping for nomenclature. Any idea of what kind of tent this is, what era it is from, is it U.S. and how rare is it? Rakkasan187 Posted September 15, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 15, 2015 You would have to try and hang this from a tree or something tall to see the shape. It could be a GP (General Purpose) small tent but as Jake has said it is rather difficult to determine from the picture. Most of the markings will be on the inside and it looks like there is also a liner but again hard to tell from this one picture Leigh

Quartermaster Posted September 16, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 16, 2015 Your tent appears to be a commercial umbrella tent popularly used in the family camping craze following WW2. This is not a tent style used by the US military. This tent, if in good shape, might have some value from a nostaglia point of view to those who collect vintage camping gear but is not a rare item.
