CHASEUSA11B Posted September 14, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 14, 2015 Hello everyone. I just picked up this little combo in San Diego and thought I'd post it here. The helmet is an X large 2004 dated MSA Kevlar in nice used condition. It has dirt and grime on the suspension which could likely be from Iraq or Afghanistan (or Ft Irwin but it has a great look) The helmet band is named to. ABERNETHY and also has a broken NVG mount. As I searched the surplus store I located a modified DCU blouse which was also named to ABERNETHY. I can't say for sure they belong together but I'm pretty sure they're mates. The store owner have me a deal on the pair and I'm pretty pleased with my first ACH. (It s definitly the biggest helmet I own) Any comments or ideas are appreciated. I'm not used to seeing DCUs with no SSI or badges. I was thinking perhaps Civil Affairs type but if anyone has a better idea id be interested Thanks for looking. Nkomo Posted September 14, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 14, 2015 Great looking grouping, sir. I would say with the last name being fairly uncommon, they are definitely a set.
chief_919 Posted September 14, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 14, 2015 Around 2004-2006 lots of units in Afghanistan were modifying shirts like that, so it could have been any of a number of users.
