Hi,

I bought this small parts from the UK.

The seller said they came from the Groesbeek Area Operation Market Garden and were Parts of a WACO Glider.

I put a bit on it for fun, and was winning, so I ask you, are these Glider Parts? Is it possiblke to tell what parts it is?

The scale on the pictures is in Centimeter.

Thank you

Christian

Christian,

My opinion is these are NOT parts of a CG-4A glider.

Perhaps, if the glider was destroyed by fire or explosion on the ground, the pieces are of cargo carried in the glider?

Hi,

thank you for your opinion,

well, I hope you are incorrect, but I think you can be correct.

Never trust a seller without knowing what you buy,

But wasn't expensive so no big problem.

But the search for a Waco part for display is going on...

WWII Parachutist

The thinner, wire piece is a section from the steel wire frame of a parachute pack. The dimensions are about right for the corner and diagonal brace of a T-5 pack frame. The second option would be the frame from an AAF seat pack. Judging from the joint method, this was probably from a parachute manufactured pre-1943.

No idea what the other piece is though.
