GatorDoc Posted September 9, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2015 Hey guys, This hat was included in a grouping of Japanese military brought back by an uncle who was in the 3rd Marine Corp Division. I am not sure if it was originally included or not but family lore seems to think so. Can anyone read what is written on it? Thanks again, G

Chap15 Posted September 9, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2015 The hat may have been used on the Japan Rhine by people who operated boat tours. It is a traditional hat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Rhine

AnDuc49 Posted September 10, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 10, 2015 The first three kanji characters I see mean "Nippon" or Japan (first two pics). I'm not sure what the others mean
