Japanese Bamboo Hat

Hey guys,

This hat was included in a grouping of Japanese military brought back by an uncle who was in the 3rd Marine Corp Division. I am not sure if it was originally included or not but family lore seems to think so. Can anyone read what is written on it?

The hat may have been used on the Japan Rhine by people who operated boat tours.

It is a traditional hat.

Someone just told me it means Japan line down. Not sure what that means. Probably not military i assume and just something he picked up there

I asked some current Japanese Soldiers.

It is used by people who are in the boat who row the boat for tourists. It is very old and traditional.

The first three kanji characters I see mean "Nippon" or Japan (first two pics). I'm not sure what the others mean
