maoribattalion Posted September 3, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2015 I've noticed that the jump patch is beige on what seems to be a disproportionate # of OG 107s. Does anyone know why most other jump patches on airborne 107s were green, but the 82nd were frequently beige?

patches Posted September 12, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 12, 2015 Shirt will date from the mid-50s 50s with a stretch into the early 60s. The wear of the small Specialist ranks indicate this, the rank being what was then Specialist 3rd Class, in 1958 the rank was re designated Specialist 4th Class and given it's now more familiar large insignia. As mentioned before these insignia's on Khaki twill were worn on fatigue items, CIBS, CMBs, Officer Ranks and Branch of Service Badges, They were originally intended to be worn as an alternative to metal ones on Khaki Coats and Shirts during WWII and the immediate post war period. B229 Posted September 12, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 12, 2015 Shirt will date from the mid-50s 50s with a stretch into the early 60s. And since the 3d Brigade, 82d Abn Div (the only part of the division to go to Vietnam) deployed to Vietnam in 1968 wearing jungle fatigues, this uniform isn't "early Vietnam".
