Baron3-6 Posted September 3, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 3, 2015 Given how clean he looks and a British? Helmet net......taken in England pre-D-Day? Either way, very nice photo. That's one worthy of a reference book.

Mapman Posted October 24, 2021 Share #13 Posted October 24, 2021 Cool photo. Sound's like much of his stuff was British made. Not surprising. When the 1st Division left England, they said goodbye to the 29th Division who remained near Devon. They fought in N. Africa, Sicily and later they were shocked when they returned to England that the 29th was still there! If they wanted to start something they would laugh and call, them, "The 29th English Division". But the laughing stopped on the morning of 6 June 1944, when the 29th Assault units were under divisional control of Heubner's "Big Red 1".
