Manchu Warrior Posted August 28, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2015 This set of Sergeants rank is a on a pretty ratty set of WWII HBT coveralls. The coveralls have been hanging in my basement for many years and I never took a close look at them until tonight. The chevrons are one piece and they are not embroidered. They look more so woven and they have that sheen like look to them. They also have that silky smooth feel to them much like the Italian made SSI's that I have seen and handled. I don't have any Italian made patches to compare them to and I'm also not sure if anyone can tell without seeing the back. But I figured that I would ask and if there isn't anything special about them I am going to leave the rank on the coveralls. Thanks!
doyler Posted August 28, 2015 Share #2 Posted August 28, 2015 Chou Look US made to my eye. The Italians used various base materials but this looks like the standard US blue twill.

Just some wishful thinking on my part and I appreciate the information. Thanks!
patches Posted August 28, 2015 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2015 They are indeed your standard Silver/White on Black WOVEN Rayon chevrons. An un-issued example below, yours have seen use, with lots of laundering being sewn to that shirt, thus that kinda of faded shrinky look.
