It's more current descendant, the 244th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, not sure if this unit is active in the NYNG today.

Fort H.G. Wright more properly, there were three more Fort Wright's not to be confushed with this one.

The 13th Infantry DI on one George Juskalian circa 1936, at this time the old 13th Infantry was in the 9th Division at Camp Devens Massachusetts, and Juskalian under took his branch training with them.

 

Juskalian an Infantry as you'll see, would be in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, curiously he did not receive a third CIB for advisor duty in Vietnam, I guess he was one of those that slipped by, or he perhaps turned it down as he thought he didn't rate it, or he got one, but didn't wear it for reason number 2.

I had the topic title changed by Rusty Canteen because I felt that this can be expanded into a less restrictive topic (I started with just Coast Artillery unit DIs), so now with the title change all units from the 20s 30s can be posted. So if you have portraits where DIs are being worn and or actual legit Class A uniform items where DIs are on them from the 1920-30s, by all means add them here.

And here's another 30s CA Guy, 64th CA Regt Hawaii. Love those old Khaki uniforms, note too the Zig Zag X stiching on the chevrons, this shows the fashion was seen way earlier, and would not be just a post WWII early 50s thing.

Here's one, pre-WWII but a little later

 

LTC of the 60th Infantry Brigade, 30th Division (NC National Guard) after they were federalized in 1940

Finance Officer, Special Staff, 30th Division taken at Fort Jackson, S.C. between September 1940 and late 1941 prior to their disbandment.

One I posted back in 2015 in the Dogs and the military topic of a 16th Infantry First Shirt.

A photo taken around 1928 in NYC's Fort Jay (Governors Island) of 1st Sgt Geo Hickman 16th Infantry, 1st Division with the regimental mascot Rags. Hickman served for a long time when this picture was taken, to include the Great War. Of note is the wear of the DIs in the original position, above the collar discs, and the wear of the overseas cap, most uncommon at this date, Service Caps and Campaign Hats were the order of the day in them days.
