Thanks, jmd62. It’s the kind of buckle that a real artisan did.

Thanks, jmpmstr, for the repost and the addition of the other buckle. Both very cool. Jsand, that is a neat buckle, too. I am always impressed with what can be engraved onto the small surface area of the GI roller buckle’s face!

Any thoughts on the two insignia?  Maybe Army Air Corps on the right, but what about the center "A"?  Allied?  The RAF, British Flying Corps and Royal Australian Air Force have four-bladed insignia.

The one on the left is the Sixth Army and the one on the right is the Eight Army. Maybe those were the two units that this Station Hospital served? I believe that Occupation duty was first done by the Sixth Army and then later the Eighth Army took over those duties.

I appreciate your knowledge and willingness to share.

Slide buckle with a British patent mark on the back. Brass plated steel. Hard to read.

Interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a roller buckle with a British hallmark. Anything on the face of it or is it blank?

Thanks for that additional information! Here’s something a little different, a leather buckle:

Also there aren’t that many Air Force buckles out there.

Any thoughts on dating this 141st infantry (Texas) buckle?  I have seen others of this type identifying different units.  So maybe a PX souvenir?

Probably WWII or immediately post-War era. These same style of curved attachments to buckles were also used to make men’s bracelets

This buckle may be a little rare due to the engraved M-16.

I could certainly see why, that M-16 looks super cool  : )

Thanks, jmd62! Interestingly, the buckle is also all chrome. Usually when engraved the brass comes through.

Quite the collection there, jsand!

You're probably right about the date on these.  They couldn't say, "Let's take a break, German army.  I want to buy a souvenir to remember this place by.  Can I get you anything?"

Yep, just so. Also, the ingenuity of having a design and construction method that lends itself to two different men’s accessories. Pretty cool idea.

Just a simple parade buckle. Difficult to capture the high shine in the photo
