Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 1, 2024 #327 Posted November 1, 2024 Thanks, jmd62. It’s the kind of buckle that a real artisan did.

Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 7, 2024 #330 Posted November 7, 2024 Thanks, jmpmstr, for the repost and the addition of the other buckle. Both very cool. Jsand, that is a neat buckle, too. I am always impressed with what can be engraved onto the small surface area of the GI roller buckle’s face!

Maybe Army Air Corps on the right, but what about the center "A"? Allied? The RAF, British Flying Corps and Royal Australian Air Force have four-bladed insignia.
Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 7, 2024 #332 Posted November 7, 2024 The one on the left is the Sixth Army and the one on the right is the Eight Army. Maybe those were the two units that this Station Hospital served? I believe that Occupation duty was first done by the Sixth Army and then later the Eighth Army took over those duties.

Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 9, 2024 #334 Posted November 9, 2024 Seabees made-in-the-Philippines buckle:
JohnK83882 Posted November 16, 2024 #335 Posted November 16, 2024 Slide buckle with a British patent mark on the back. Brass plated steel. Hard to read.
Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 16, 2024 #336 Posted November 16, 2024 Interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a roller buckle with a British hallmark. Anything on the face of it or is it blank?
Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 16, 2024 #338 Posted November 16, 2024 Thanks for that additional information! Here’s something a little different, a leather buckle: Also there aren’t that many Air Force buckles out there.
jsand Posted November 23, 2024 #340 Posted November 23, 2024 Any thoughts on dating this 141st infantry (Texas) buckle? I have seen others of this type identifying different units. So maybe a PX souvenir?
Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 23, 2024 #341 Posted November 23, 2024 Probably WWII or immediately post-War era. These same style of curved attachments to buckles were also used to make men’s bracelets
Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 30, 2024 #342 Posted November 30, 2024 A made-in-the-Philippines buckle: This buckle may be a little rare due to the engraved M-16.
jmd62 Posted November 30, 2024 #343 Posted November 30, 2024 I could certainly see why, that M-16 looks super cool : )
Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 30, 2024 #344 Posted November 30, 2024 Thanks, jmd62! Interestingly, the buckle is also all chrome. Usually when engraved the brass comes through.

Cobra 6 Actual Posted December 5, 2024 #347 Posted December 5, 2024 Quite the collection there, jsand!

They couldn't say, "Let's take a break, German army. I want to buy a souvenir to remember this place by. Can I get you anything?"
Cobra 6 Actual Posted December 5, 2024 #349 Posted December 5, 2024 Yep, just so. Also, the ingenuity of having a design and construction method that lends itself to two different men’s accessories. Pretty cool idea.
jmpmstr Posted December 6, 2024 #350 Posted December 6, 2024 Just a simple parade buckle. Difficult to capture the high shine in the photo
