Salvage Sailor

My sister ship, Diver class Salvage ship USS SAFEGUARD (ARS-25) 1972 Westpac/Vietnam cruise

Very unique style and the only one I've come across, probably made in either Taiwan (Keelung or Kaoasiung) or Korea (Pohang or Chinhae), all regular SERVRON 5 ports of call

Era unknown, Manchu (9th Infantry Regiment) buckles. In the late 90s, Soldiers who were part of the 9th IN or supported them wore these buckles to show they'd completed the "Manchu Mile," a 25 mile forced march. Rumor was that these were officially authorized by Department of the Army to be worn with uniform in other assignments (I never researched to confirm/deny that).

I bought these as collection items, not as a member of the Manchus.

Very nice. I picked this one up today at an estate sale with some other 2nd Inf Div items.

Similar style with slightly different patterns.

Thanks, Al

Here is one of the 2nd Inf. Div. items I got at the same sale. Flag measures 3'x4' and is double sided. Beautiful enbroidered Indian head on each side, with the back side having a reversed image.

Thanks, Al

Three piece officer's buckle, Virginia Military Institute. Plate, wreath, and eagle are all separate pieces. (In need of polish. Wreath at one time was silver plate, traces remain.) Belt marked on back - worn by four different VMI First Captains (highest Cadet rank).

This one is a bit of an oddity. I just acquired it this week but the baffling part is the "Naval Base Boston" and that I can't find any examples of Boston-area bases being referred to as such.

This one may be a little different but I always thought it was cool. US Army Aviation Precision Demonstration Team, Silver Eagles. Was a team of OH-6A helicopters from 1972-1976. This lot was said to come from one of the pilots.

Slipping in a Coastie Buckle.....

USCGC CHILULA (WMEC-153) ex-Cherokee class USN Fleet Tug in USN service 1945 to 1956 as ATF-153, in USCG service 1956 to 1991. Redesignated as a Medium Endurance Cutter (WMEC-153) in 1966

It's always difficult to get a good photo of these Zippo buckles due to the high chrome finish.

I posted this on the forum elsewhere but I don't remember where. Senior moments.

Anyway here's a Mills buckle and keeper. Probably a state guard or militia.

Cobra 6 Actual

Cool one, BH. Maybe for Texas? Here’s something a little different:

This would be considered as “Open Carry” in some States (unless you’ve got a ‘Dunlop Belly” where your ‘belly done lop over my belt’). I also have a similar .22 from Freedom Arms.
