Salvage Sailor Posted August 25, 2015 Share #8 Posted August 25, 2015 Two buckles I wore on several deployments aboard USS LUCE (DDG-38) My scratched up Hilborn-Hamburger buckle and my Zippo buckle still on a blue working uniform belt. Another of my own, scratched up Westpac USS BOLSTER (ARS-38) Japanese buckle Found another LUCE buckle, Japanese this time 1950's Japanese buckle which belonged to a Bo'sun on an Korean War ATF also an illustration of how the belts did not change much from 1950 to 1975 Some PI (Philippine Island) buckles - There were many different types of PI Buckles made for all branches These were made at Olongapo (Subic Bay) by attaching Texoma carved castings to US GI buckles More examples of typical USN shipboard buckles circa 1960 to 1980's This USS PETREL (ASR-14) belt and buckle belonged to the Skipper USS ORTOLAN (ARS-22) Lots of nautical miles on this one..... Japanese mid-1950 to mid-1960 made by Vulcan, the lighter manufacturer ...and lest we overlook these USN Enlisted Issue buckles and belts I received in bootcamp Another style of Vietnam Era PI buckle USS RECLAIMER (ARS-42) Many people collect Zippo lighters..... 1970's Cold War Zippo Belt Buckles Photos without glare
