I know this is an old thread, so sorry to be resurrecting it.  Does anyone have good information on the currently worn Puerto Rico State Guard beret flash?  I have seen photos of their old beret flashes and a recent Facebook photo of a Puerto Rico State Guardsman participating in a funeral ceremony that suggest the current beret flash is different than what I can find online.  Here are some photos of the Puerto Rico State Guard beret flashes I have found as well as a zoomed-in and edited (for privacy) version of the 2019 funeral ceremony photo, mentioned above.  Can anyone help me find the current authorized Puerto Rico State Guard Beret Flash?

Second question for this educated group of forum members.  The Washington State Guard also wear a unique yellow, green, and white beret flash and based on how the state has them organized, they basically have three elements, an HQ, 1st Brigade, and 2nd Brigade.  New photos of these state guardsman show them wearing the HQ beret flash (no tick marks) and I cannot find any recent photos of anyone wearing the 1st or 2nd Brigade versions.  However, I did see a note in a Flickr posting that suggest the brigade specific beret flashes are no longer used.  Does anyone have information as to whether the brigade delineated versions of the Washington State Guard Beret Flash are still in use or not?

A friend notified me that a few years ago he attended a SG annual conference where he met several members of the PR SG who were wearing berets and a flash.  They subsequently provided him w/ their flash, the same as was worn at the conference.  He was told that the flash was made originally for the PR NG 65th Inf, Co E rangers, but that they no longer wore it and the SG took the extras and wore them.

This is in response to the WA SG flashes

My frend was provided w/ the three WA SG flashes a few years ago from the WA SQ HQ.  Unk if they any are still used. They appear to be made differently from those originally posted. Note the yellow and green cable colors, and the placement of the the tics in the 2nd Bde flash.

Thank you tredhed2!  In regards to the Puerto Rico State Guard Beret Flash, given your picture and the 2019 ceremony photo I posted, what Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI) do you think he is wearing?

Two more Texas State Guard patches.

One is the original 401ASG patch from the early 2000's. The other is from 2017 commemorating work during Hurricane Harvey.

Ricardo awesome uniform thumbsup.gif . My father served in the Michigan NG in detroit in the 1960's & was activated for the riots there in 68.

There is a great book on the 1967  “12th Street”  riots called “Nightmare in Detroit”. The author’s name is Sauter, and it’s filled with contemporary first hand accounts. I think it was published  a year or two after the event. That one ended up with  a Brigade of the  82nd  Airborne being called in.
