Lee Ragan Posted August 8, 2008 Share #13 Posted August 8, 2008 Plane in number 5 is a T-33, not an F-80. The T-33 was the trainer follow-on of the F-80 and was three feet longer. The T-33 was produced in larger numbers than the F-80 and many soldier on in several countries around the world. I was lucky enough to get a back seat ride in one of these old trainers in the summer of 1969 with the 62nd Fighter Interceptor Sqd. at K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan. In four years in the Air Force, it was my only ride in a military aircraft.
