Well I got the tunic I asked about in the thread yesterday. I'm I correct thats its a model 1912 summer weight tunic? Also is the hash marks on the lower sleeve for years of service? Would the missing collar disc also have US on it. Its in really good shap. Tags are long gone.

Thanks Mike

Hello

Can anybody give me info on this tunic hash marks?

Thanks

Mike

Mike:

Gold bullion chevrons each represent 6 months overseas service. Nice uniform!

Each gold colored chevron represents six months service in the theater of operations during the period of US involvement in WW1 and the occupation. A silver colored chevron would be for six months outside of the theater of operations (like service in the US) and a light blue chevron would represent less than six months service in the theater of operations. Only a single light blue chevron would ever be worn. This would be for a soldier who departed the theater of operations before a gold chevron could be earned. A gold chevron on the other sleeve represented a wound.
