Got these today from a local thrift shop. They're in NOS condition however I'm confused about whether they are repro's.
They have what looks like original tags and what looks like cutter tags but then on the ankle, there is a piece of velcro to
keep them together. Help appreciated.

Not an expert at all when it comes to womens issue gear...but it looks good...I wouldn't think a repop as not a high demand for this item...and being found in a thrift shop is a good thing versus on line or military swap meet..

cutter tags are nice and look period, and I think 18R is a good size for the modern woman

But the Velcro confuses me a tad...a quick shows Velcro invented in 48 and more mainstream by late 50s..not elastic at ankles?

So let's assume they're original. I compared the stitching to my What Price Glory M43's (Male). The female M43's are stitched way differently. The buttons are stitched differently and the material has much more sheen than repro uniforms. How much longer after WWII would female troops wear a set of M43 trousers? Did they modify them with velcro in the late 40's-50's, or even beyond?

Here's the ankles

I am not 100% sure on this one so I won't take a guess. I recommend posting this in the women's section. You will get more hits in that section.

Would you like for me to move this to the women's section for you?

I moved it for you. As I said, I am not 100% sure so I won't take a guess and tell you wrong. Some things look good to me while other things look wrong. There are others on here who know a lot more than me when it comes to women's items. :)

The trousers appear to be WWII period + they are in rare, larger size. The questions is who, when and why added the velcro. There should be an elastic band attached at ankles

or nothing at all (2nd pattern).

Good question as to why the velcro was added. If you know anyone interested in them I enjoy trades.
