Brian Keith Posted August 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2015 Here is a nice WW II USN Souvenir Jacket I picked up in an antique mall. The back has a nicely done dragon and “Shanghai China 1945”. It has dragon “Liberty” style cuffs, a dragon on the right pocket and the sailor name in English and Chinese. The first name is clearly “Glenn” but I’m not really sure about the last. “Cernst” "Ernst"? I don’t read Chinese. Thanks for looking. BKW
Blacksmith Posted August 6, 2020 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2020 I apologize for reincarnating this old topic, but I have the opportunity to buy one of these 1946 Shanghai souvenir jackets. What would you be comfortable paying for one? Thank you in advance! And thank you for letting me repurpose your topic Brian.
vintageproductions Posted August 6, 2020 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2020 I wouldn't pay a lot as they are still fairly easy to find. Every SOS I can but 10-12 of these and if they are plain like the one shown they can easily be bought in the $200.00 range. The more elaborate the embroidered the value goes up. These aren't as desirable as 50's Japan reversible jackets.

I forgot I had posted that, and I really would not have any idea of current market value. Fun to see again. I have it around here-somewhere!
