gmasher Posted December 29, 2016 Share #28 Posted December 29, 2016 Ronnie, I'm afraid I must confess my envy over the flight suit; I had known John Callan since around 1983, corresponding with him during my research on the 25th, copying all his photos and documents, and getting to know him at the 71st TRG reunions. I had him on my Christmas card list but hadn't heard from him the past few years; the cards never came back, so I just kept on sending them. He even gave me his "L" wings, which I wore while flying my own L-5 at airshows for years; Imonly found out recently that he had passed away. He had resided at 18 Hillside Road in Watertown, MA - it may have even been the home he grew up in, as he never married, and named all his airplanes after his mother: "Lizzie Tish" or "Bay State Lizzie." I'm just sick that his memorabilia ended up in the trash...
northcoastaero Posted December 30, 2016 Share #29 Posted December 30, 2016 Nice flight suit. The USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio has a Guinea Short Lines display. Their L-5 may be in the markings of the same unit.
