If you can take a pic of the webbing inside the liner..

it may be an all WW2 liner that got repainted white for postwar use.

I picked up a nice WWI helmet with sand texture (no liner).

I meant to ask you something when you first posted this helmet. I have never seen one with this kind of a sand texture to it. Was this something done in the factory? I have heard of cork helmets in WWII and seen smaller sand but not this much sand.

Kat, it is my understanding that several types of materials were used to get the texture to the helmets. I have heard of cork, saw-dust, and sand. Maybe someone with more knowledge of WWI helmets can chime in on this.

From what I had read, MSA stopped liner production in 1945.

Found this overseas cap and thought the piping was interesting. Almost an arrow-feather like design.

What an Interesting variant! you should post it in one of those Garrison Cap Piping topics in Uniforms, there are a few, I guess in the one that's the most HOTTEST.
