He had a very distinguished career as an Army administrator, mostly in the Adjutant General Corps, receiving the Army DSM four times. The producers of "The Dirty Dozen" didn't base Borgnine/Worden's medals on his, but Reckord would have been the man in this scenario if it had ever happened. And by watching the movie, you instantly tell if the consultant is a good or bad one.
