MasonK Posted July 19, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2015 Picked this up at a yard sale today. Initially passed on it, thinking it was foreign, however then noticed the Eagle snap on the top. Material is felt, which is pretty moth eaten. Two stamps on the interior, however hard to read what they say. Appears to be a name, rather than a makers mark. Haven;t the slightest clue as to what type of cap this is. Hoping someone here may be able to help. Guesses so far have been Civilian Conservation Corps, privately made from a campaign hat, and a private purchase cap. Photos below. Male and female sections of the button have what appears to be a makers mark and a patent #, which are both hard to read. Will try to take photos tomorrow in daylight with a better camera.
