Ronnie Posted January 22, 2017 Author #101 Posted January 22, 2017 Those of you familiar with my jeep collection know that I am constantly adding to it. I recently found this small Dinky Toys Jeep on eBay. It, as you can see was in bad shape. I did a search and found out that I could buy replacement tires. I purchased the jeep and ordered some tires. Then I cleaned the jeep....stripped the jeep....polished the jeep....washed it again....then painted it. After it dried I added some details to the painting. Hope you all like it. It was enjoyable to do. Here are some photos from before...in the middle ....and the after. Ronnie More photos. More photos. Last one.
Proud Kraut Posted January 22, 2017 #102 Posted January 22, 2017 Very well done, Ronnie! Another great addition to your collection. Lars
sgtdorango Posted January 22, 2017 #103 Posted January 22, 2017 Nice job and great work..., is it a civillian model?...whats that yellow thing on the back?....mike
Proud Kraut Posted January 22, 2017 #104 Posted January 22, 2017 Nice job and great work..., is it a civillian model?...whats that yellow thing on the back?....mike Could it be a winch?
earlymb Posted January 22, 2017 #105 Posted January 22, 2017 It's a PTO (Power Take Off) for all sorts of agricultural equipment. This model originally came in red or green, both with a black windshield. There's also a military version made for the US market, but that one is rare.
Ronnie Posted January 23, 2017 Author #106 Posted January 23, 2017 Thanks Lars. Mike it is like early MB said a PTO. The first post war jeeps were built with the farmer in mind. It was a fun project. I picked up a Land Rover and will do the same to it. Beats sitting around watching tv. Ronnie
Ronnie Posted May 12, 2017 Author #107 Posted May 12, 2017 Here are a couple of jeeps I've just added to the collection. The jeep wagon is a newly made Diecast model but the old CJ5 is an old model that was given to Willys executives. At least that is what I have read. Thanks. Ronnie
Ronnie Posted August 19, 2017 Author #108 Posted August 19, 2017 Here is a really cool all hand made jeep. I picked this up earlier this year and may have shown it but not on this thread. This thing is amazing. Thanks. Ronnie More photos. Thanks for looking. Ronnie
MECHINF-A15 Posted August 20, 2017 #109 Posted August 20, 2017 Here are a few of my humble additions to Ronnie's awesome collection thread. 21st Century Toys 1/18th scale jeep with Airborne troopers.
MECHINF-A15 Posted August 20, 2017 #110 Posted August 20, 2017 Next up. I can no longer remember the maker of this 1/16th metal die cast jeep and I purchased it years ago. Loved the details. Ronnie probably has one so please add the details, And another view of the detailed engine compartment. One last view of this Jeep model.
earlymb Posted August 21, 2017 #111 Posted August 21, 2017 I think that's a Danbury Mint. There's also a version with a multiple rocket launcher.
Ronnie Posted August 23, 2017 Author #112 Posted August 23, 2017 Yeah I think that is the Danbury Mint jeep. It came with the .50 or the canvas top. You could display it either way. I have two. So I display one with the gun and one with the top up. I also have the rocket launcher version. Here is a photo. The best I have at the moment. Thanks. Ronnie
Ronnie Posted August 23, 2017 Author #113 Posted August 23, 2017 Mike thanks for posting your jeeps. Thanks earlymb for the comment. Ronnie
earlymb Posted August 23, 2017 #114 Posted August 23, 2017 The Danbury Mint is a very nice model. Another very good one is the 1/20 (I think) slatgrill from Tamiya. It's a pre-built model, not a kit and quite rare.
MECHINF-A15 Posted August 23, 2017 #115 Posted August 23, 2017 Thanks Ronnie & earlymb for the information on the Danbury Mint model jeeps. Mike
Ronnie Posted August 24, 2017 Author #116 Posted August 24, 2017 Hey Mike here are some up to date photos I made today of my three Danbury Mint Jeeps. Bunch of photos to follow. Thanks. Ronnie More. More. More. Thanks. Ronnie
MECHINF-A15 Posted August 24, 2017 #117 Posted August 24, 2017 Ronnie, Thanks for posting the SUPER shots of your Danbury Mint jeeps. OUTSTANDING! Mike

Ronnie A PTO gearbox with the drum pulley attached...the PTO drive was attached to the transfer case, and the two PTO units connected by a PTO shaft... just admiring all the jeeps when I saw that...
