wolfbay Posted July 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2015 THIS IS JUST SOME OF THE UNIFORMS AND FLAGS THAT I SCORED AT VICE ADMIRAL WILLIAM RAMSEY'S ESTATE HERE IN PENSACOLA. Vice Admiral William E. Ramsey. Adm. Ramsey graduated from the Naval Academy in 1953. He served 6 months on the USS Glynn APA-239 before naval flight training at Pensacola, Fla. Upon complication of flight training he spent 4 years attached to VF-61/VF-84 (JOLLY ROGERS) flying F9Fs and FJ-3s. After that he was an instructor Pilot with VA-43 for a year and a Test Pilot at NATC Patuxent River, MD. About this time he was selected as one of the 60 finalist for the original Mercury, Gemini and Apollo Programs but was cut in the semifinal selection. IN 1967-69 He was XO and CO of VA-66 WALDOS on board the USS America's deployment to Vietnam and Flew 138 Combat Missions. 1970-71 became XO USS Independence. 72-73 was assigned as CO of the USS Pensacola LSD-38. 1974 at Naval War College. 1975-79 Commanding officer in charge of Commissioning the USS Eisenhower CVN-69. 1979-80 Commander Carrier Group One. 1980-85 Director Naval Space Systems Division OPNAV (OP-943). 1985-89 Deputy CINC Space Systems Command, 3/1/89 Retired Rank Vice Admiral Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
