Niki Posted July 15, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2015 Can anybody help me to find out what this green MK-2 was used for? Was it for army? navy ? air force? Never have seen pictures about this green version but seen allot yellow navy U.S.N or BUAER versions around the web.
mohawkALSE Posted July 16, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 16, 2015 Army Mk2 vests are yellow and marked U.S. ARMY on the rear. I'd post pics of mine but I've found it difficult posting on here since they changed it to uploading. I've seen a civilian version of Mk2s and some weird aluminized version that looked like it was for Navy fire crews on carriers. This is the first green one. northcoastaero Posted July 16, 2015 Share #4 Posted July 16, 2015 I have heard of some military MK-2 life preservers being dyed black. Could this MK-2 have been dyed black with a lot of the black dye washed off? I had a MK-3C life preserver at one time with the orange bladder being dyed black. It looked more like a dull orange color than black.
Niki Posted July 16, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted July 16, 2015 No its is really dark green with no dye marking, very strange so nobody have seen this color on the MK-2??? It was in the box so i think it original.
