Bought this cover on an auction. I think its KN War era. The fabric doesnt glow at all but the tread does. Wouldnt the thread glow anyway if its post WWII?

 

First one I ever had and need help

Hello,

 

seems to be a legit post-ww2 cover ... some have a Blue Anchor stamp, some don't but they have the same stitching.

I don't the stitching on the brown side is correct. It doesn't appear to have the correct "sawtooth" pattern.

The postwar covers don't have the sawtooth stitching.

 

Better pics of the central stitching, sand side, and of the hbt weave, would confirm if it's legit or not ;)

Thats a very nice 1953 KW era USMC cover with proper stitching on edges, they did away with the sawtooth stitching on brown side edges after WWII...probably just a machinery/manufacturing upgrade improvement.....mike
