River Rat 1 Posted September 2, 2023 Share #82 Posted September 2, 2023 I remember this place. Also did shore patrol on my second ship whenever we pulled in. Remember at midnight we would muster at the provost marshal after patrolling the bars they would let us go some would go and party that you are not suppose do on duty day the ship figured it out after a long while and they made sure we all returned after being let go at the provost marshal. Took a friend's duty and stood his watch so he could go party in Olongapo and he was found a few days later with his neck broke in in that river that was a sewer the forum won't let me call that river what the military called it in the military we swore if you collect this stuff get use to a military habit and don't block it out it was part of military life. To this day I regret taking BM2 Kellywood's duty. You really had to be careful there. Don't have to many photos one of me drunk as hell in a bar and a photo of the street got a few more if I can find them. Also, a group of us going back to the ship late at night and Marcos's goons in civilian clothes pulled their car onto the sidewalk in front of us you could see guns in holsters they ask some questions and let us go you never want to live in a country with a dictator.
