These 3 badges were brought back by a U.S. Merchant Marine during one of his trips to South Vietnam serving aboard an ammunition ship. These cap badges are for the ARVN Infantry Academy at Thu-Duc. Top two a beret badges, one cloth and one bullion. The bottom is for the peaked dress cap.

The Thu-Duc Academy had evolved over time from its founding in 1955. Some of it's cadre consisted of U.S Advisors who were teaching new Infantry doctrine developed at Ft Benning. In addtion there were members of the AATTV "Australians" also instructing at the academy. I believe the school motto was "If you want peace prepare for war"

Peaked Cap and Beret Badges for the SVN National Military Academy in Dalat. Considered the West Point of Viet Nam. In the late 60's there was a 12 Man U.S. Advisory Detachment attached to the Academy

The Initials at bottom of beret badges would read. Truong Vo Bi Quoc Gia Viet Nam. TVBQGVN. Founded in 1948, the last graduating class was January of 1975.

Both the Thu Duc Academy and the Military Academy Dalat badges show the 3 tipped Sacred Flame as the central symbol. Each of the 3 tips represents a region in the whole of the country. Tonkin in the north, Annam in the center and Cochin in the south.

Those are some VERY excellent and rare pieces!

Thank you for sharing them!

About the last cap insignia, the academy, known as Dong De, was also an officers' academy in later years.
