Help ID. I think this Indian or Spanish Wars Cavalry

chevrons length side to side is 9 3/4" top to bottom around 7 inches

 

can anyone date this for me. any help much appreciated

Is the background black or dark blue? At first glance they look like reproduction War Between the States federal Cavalry or Engineers chevrons.

Have you checked with Emerson's book on Army chevrons?

US Army Chervons from 1872 and later are very standard in construction and look nothing like these. I agree with Lee that they are repros of Civil War chevrons.

came in a lot of EGA's I wanted. so no loss except confidence in seller who actually did not name item. they have some moth holes so maybe I will sell them as repo for reactors?

Before you blow them out, post super close-ups of a portion of the front (to better see the yellow cloth) and the reverse (to see the threads). I "think" they're repro based on what I see, but a closer look wouldn't hurt.
