158th Infantry DUI

Here are some of my 158th Infantry DUIs. These are from various eras - so some are from the AZNG 158th Infantry while others would have been worn by members of the 158th RCT. Interesting to see how different manufacturers dealt with the enamel "spots" on the Gila Monster.

These are the only ones I have ever seen that lack a separately applied Gila Monster

L: unmarked (somebody engraved "AZ NG")

R: American ???? Co. Attleboro Mass ( I can't make out the second word, faint stamp )

I think you're right. Here is a closer picture of the stamping, "Metal Crafts" would appear to fit what lettering is visible.

Here are the current DUI for the 1-158 Infantry Battalion. These are Vanguard items. The attached pictures show the DUI by itself as well as how it is worn on the previous service uniform. Note, the head of the lizard is always to be oriented towards the wearer's heart. As such, there are two different versions of the DUI to reflect the correct orientation.

Here is another shot of the DUI as worn on our Class A uniforms. Note the head of the lizard on each side is pointing down towards the wearer.

Revisiting an older thread I started. Here are some additional variations of the 158th DUI.

These examples are both unmarked.

It's interesting to see how much variation there is in the enameling of the gila monster, especially where the manufacturer tried to use two colors.

Assortment of unofficial unit insignia. Some theater made, some produced for sale to members of the Bushmaster Association over the years.
