First Pattern VP-28 squadron patch

Had a neat little group of misc. militaria walk in this morning.

 

In the group was this cool piece.

 

According to VPNAVY.org it was the first design for the unit.

 

I think it's a much better design then the Hawaiian Warrior they started using shortly afterwards.

That is a very cool patch. Did you happen to come across a VP-814 patch in that group? I need that and a VA-831 patch. Those were a couple of the squadrons my dad was in.
