KASTAUFFER Posted May 30, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 30, 2015 I recently acquired a group to a US Army Col. who was captured on Bataan and held in the Philippines, Taiwan, and lastly Hoten Manchuria. One of these is an armband, the other a patch. I'm not sure if he wore these or of they are souvenirs. Any help translating what they say would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Kurt !!!! WANTED !!!! thefallenbuddha Posted May 30, 2015 Share #2 Posted May 30, 2015 The armband reads something to the effect of, "American army group, adjutant leader." The patch looks to be an ID tag that referenced his barracks. The characters on the right read, "soldier, house, enter, exit." A "tenth group" is also referenced in the other characters. I think the man had a leadership position among the POWs, and the armband was his rank for that, while the patch was probably worn on his prison clothing as an ID of some sort.
