1st Sgt CES Posted May 22, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 22, 2015 Please remember to help if you see someone with Poppies this weekend. Remember you would not have a hobby if not for veterans. God Bless America----Blue Skies Mark

Rakkasan187 Posted May 22, 2015 Share #5 Posted May 22, 2015 Told the staff at our safety meeting this morning the same thing.., it's not about just having another day off. That day off was paid for 10 fold in blood. I encouraged them to stop by the Fort Bliss National Cemetery and visit a grave.. RIP Warriors and Thank you for securing our Liberties.. JBFloyd Posted May 25, 2015 Share #12 Posted May 25, 2015 A simple "Thank you" to our Dutch friends and allies, who have cared for the American graves at Margraten for so many years. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/americans-gave-their-lives-to-defeat-the-nazis-the-dutch-have-never-forgotten/2015/05/24/92dddab4-fa79-11e4-9ef4-1bb7ce3b3fb7_story.html

JBFloyd Posted May 26, 2015 Share #14 Posted May 26, 2015 Because I was off to a ceremony at Arlington, I pulled the trigger too quickly on my post above about the Margraten cemetery and the care given to it by the Dutch. I did not mean to slight similar efforts on behalf of American cemeteries by our Belgian and French allies. Anyone who has the opportunity to visit any of the American Battle Monuments Commission's cemeteries should take the time to see them. The care and respect given the cemeteries is truly remarkable. pchepurko Posted May 26, 2015 Share #15 Posted May 26, 2015 I am writing a story about a pilot who was KIA in WWII for my second book. He is buried at Margarten and the pilot's niece put me in contact with the lady who is taking care of his grave. She told me there is a waiting list for those who want to volunteer to take care of a grave. What a great tribute these people pay to our fallen men. Garandomatic Posted May 26, 2015 Share #16 Posted May 26, 2015 That's tremendous. I have been watching the youtube link of the dedication of the cemetery in '45 when the grave were decorated for the first time. Very cool.
