Very nice!

 

With all the marksmanship badges in my collection, I've never bothered to look at the back of the expert badge I wore on my uniform for many years! I'll have to go check it.

 

I just looked: It is an N.S. Meyer 22M badge, 1/20 silver filled, and the rifle bar is marked G-23 1/20 SF.

I first fired expert when I was stationed in Germany in 1975 or 1976. I fired expert every year until my retirement in 1993.

 

I like your avatar. Your Grandfather looks like a proud and cpable soldier.

Thank you Steve for the Informations, could you wear a marksman badge only for one year - and after that you must shoot Again?

 

Yes he was a very proud one. Im a proud caretaker of his ww2 stuff.

Yes, we had to re-qualify (shoot) at least once a year. We had to take a physical training test at least once a year, too.
