BigDogMilitaria Posted May 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2015 I've been offered this flag. Unfortunately I dont know what it is, and the seller has no clue where it came from. I did some searches, but i am unfamiliar with some of the Military vernacular that might help me solve the puzzle. Any ideas? And is it worth picking up? I was thinking it was Vietnam era, but thats a wild guess. Always looking for named items from Detroit area Vets!

Mr.Jerry Posted May 18, 2015 Share #3 Posted May 18, 2015 Not an "official issue" flag, but many like this were made up and some even carried in the field. but as mentioned, the unit designation is a bit odd. WarrantMafia Posted May 18, 2015 Share #5 Posted May 18, 2015 Agree with Jerry. When I was in the infantry (TLAT), we had a Scout Platoon in each Infantry Company and they created guidons with the Infantry designation and cross sabers. The always had the cool gun jeeps and even got the HUMMVs before we did. Always seeking WW2 2d, 8th, 9th infantry and 3rd Armor Division medal groupings and patches. Also interested in Army Warrant Officer Aviator groupings.
firefighter Posted May 19, 2015 Share #6 Posted May 19, 2015 Like Warrant Mafia stated. You see this type of flag hanging on antennas on Jeeps, HUMMVS, APC's, etc...Neat looking flag.Is it double sided? If not probably a presentation flag. ASMIC #1098
